AMC Theaters Tells Star Wars Fans To Leave The Masks & Blasters At Home

DENVER (CBS4) - With just one week until the highly anticipated premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, AMC Theaters is offering a few tips and information to the millions of fans expected on opening weekend.

Fans are welcome to wear costumes, as has become custom for favorites such as Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Star Wars.

However, AMC said it's long-standing costume policy does not allow masks, face paint, weapons, "and items that would make other guests feel uncomfortable or detract from the movie-going experience."

In this case, that means you can bring your light-saber (turn it off during the movie), but should leave the blaster, face paint, and Darth Vader mask at home.

AMC said tickets are still available, both in IMAX 3D and regular theaters.
