Denver Santa Claus Shop Collects Toys For Less Fortunate Children

DENVER (CBS4)- The Denver Santa Claus shop collects toys for thousands of children in the Denver metro area.

The organization collects new and "gently loved" toys for newborns to 11-year-olds. They plan to provide toys to children in need during this year's holiday season.

"The Denver Santa Claus Shop is celebrating it's 85th year of raising money, buying toys and distributing toys to over 15,000 kids this year," said Denver Santa Claus Shop President Gary Steck.

There are several drop off locations that include Larry H. Miller Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.

"One of the principals of the Larry Miller group is doing good until there is too much good in the world and what a better organization to align with than the Denver Santa Claus Shop who have been putting smiling faces on a lot of kids and families for a very long time," said Brent Wood, GM of the Larry H. Miller dealership.

Qualifying families may choose the toys for their children.

"We've donating over $350,000 to the community from the dealership groups and from Larry H. Miller charities and we'd like to donate $7,500 to the Denver Santa Claus Shop and to help in their cause in helping these children," said Wood.

The Denver Santa Claus Shop is an all volunteer run, nondenominational, nonprofit organization.
