Woman Saved By Good Samaritans After Driving Into Lake Loveland

LOVELAND, Colo. (CBS4) - Three people involved in a daring rescue in Lake Loveland Saturday night have been released from the hospital.

A woman crashed into the lake Saturday night, and two bystanders jumped in to help.

Police say a man swam out to the car, broke the passenger window, and pulled the driver out. There was no one else in the car.

"A passerby witnessed the car enter the water and swam out to the car where they broke the passenger window and pulled the driver out," Jeff Pyle with Loveland Police said in a statement.

"The one guy took some of his clothes off, ran out into the water, broke the window out of the car, grabbed the girl and started bringing her in. So I went out there and met him out there and threw my coat over the top of him and her," said a witness.

The driver and two men were treated at the hospital for hypothermia.

It's not clear what caused the woman to drive into the lake.
