Broncos Trail Patriots 7-0 After 1st Quarter

DENVER (CBS4/The Sports Xchange) - The New England Patriots wasted no time taking the lead against the Denver Broncos. After a Broncos three-and-out and a poor punt, one their first possession Tom Brady took to the air and drove the ball from Denver's 47 yard line and connected on a touchdown pass to Rob Gronkowski to take a 7-0 lead.

On the Broncos third possession coach Gary Kubiak decided to go for it on fourth down and one at the New England 32 yard line instead of a field attempt. Quarterback Brock Osweiler kept the ball himself and converted.

But after Osweiler was sacked for a 13-yard loss the Broncos' drive stalled and they were forced to punt.

In the final minute both T.J. Ward an Sylvester Williams were shaken up and were tended to on the sideline.
