Police: Online Date Ends In Armed Robbery
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) - Two people have been arrested following an armed robbery that began as a date.
According to the Larimer County Sheriff's Office, just before 7 p.m. Friday deputies responded to a report of a possible robbery that occurred at America's Best Value Inn located at 4333 East Mulberry Street in Fort Collins.
"The victim and a woman he met on a dating website had retired to his room after having dinner in town. Almost immediately after entering the room the woman, Kira Abbott, sent a text message and then opened the door to the room. A male, later identified as Elijah Altergott, was waiting outside the door and entered the room when Abbott opened the door. Altergott pointed a handgun at the victim and then he and Abbott took the victim's wallet from him," the sheriff's office said in a statement.
Deputies obtained a search warrant after identifying where the couple resided and found evidence of the robbery.
Abbott, 18, and Altergott, 20, were taken into custody.
The investigation is ongoing.
