DENVER (CBS4) – The Broncos announced Wednesday that quarterback Brock Osweiler was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week.
It’s the first conference recognition of Osweiler’s career, and the first such award for the Broncos this season.
Osweiler got his first NFL start on Sunday against the Bears, after apprenticing under Peyton Manning for four years. It was also Osweiler’s birthday, and the Broncos beat the Bears 17-15.
Fans and teammates were impressed with his performance, and Osweiler is again scheduled to start in the upcoming game against the Patriots, Sunday Nov. 29.
His first game was such a hit that several ‘Brock-isms’ are quickly starting to catch on.
