Suspect Identified In 2 Recreation Center Burglaries

ARVADA, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Arvada and Golden worked together to identify a theft suspect who targeted recreation centers. Now they're trying to find him.

Investigators have identified Zechariah Randolph as the suspect in the two rec center burglaries and auto thefts in the past week.

Randolph is described as 5-foot-10 with a short beard, eyeglasses, brown hair and blue eyes. Police say he was identified from tips received from the police departments' Facebook posts.

The incident in Arvada happened about 9 p.m. Nov. 4 at the APEX Recreation Center where a member's wallet, cell phone, car keys and blue Toyota Prius were reported stolen. Authorities said the items were taken from a locker in the men's locker room and the thief used the keys to steal the car from the parking lot.

Golden Police said a similar crime occurred Nov. 3 at the Golden Community Center. In that case, a man was seen leaving the men's locker room around the same time a person's wallet, keys and Volkswagen Jetta were reported stolen.

"We are obtaining search warrants for other vehicles and believe we will identify additional victims as we continue our investigation," said Arvada Police Det. Johnson in a statement.
