Many Businesses Offering Special Deals For Military Members On Veterans Day

DENVER (CBS4) - Veterans Day is Wednesday and businesses across Colorado and the nation will be honoring military members with special deals. Below is a list of just some of the special deals being offered.

  • In honor of Veteran's Day, Westgate Resorts is giving away 2,500 free vacations to U.S. military and veterans at their various resorts across the county including ones in Orlando and Las Vegas. Veterans can take advantage of the offer by visiting WestgateDestinations.com/ThankYouMilitary.  This is the fifth year Westgate has provided free vacations to U.S Military personnel bringing the total to 15,000 free rooms nights given to military and their families.
  • Albertsons and Safeway stores in Colorado will offer a 10 percent discount on groceries to all active duty, reserve and retired military personnel Nov. 11-17th, and will continue to offer the 10 percent discount on the first Saturday of every month beginning Dec. 5th.* The discount programs furthers the company's commitment and appreciation to customers who have served our country.
  • With Copper Mountain now opening on Veterans Day, the resort will offer free skiing and riding on Wednesday, Nov. 11 to all active or retired military and their dependents. This includes all Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard and retired military and their dependents (spouses and/or children). All military and dependents will be required to show a valid ID at the ticket window at time of purchase.
  • This year, Chili's® Grill & Bar will recognize the contributions of veterans and active military personnel beyond a single day by sponsoring the holiday celebration for one lucky winner and their family. This is an opportunity for people across the country to show appreciation for the service of retired and current military personnel. The process is easy, nominate a deserving individual and let Chili's take care of making their holiday festivities with loved ones extra special. Nominations are open from Nov. 11 through Nov. 27 with the winner announced the first week of December.
  • Free meal at Golden Corral - Any person who has served in the U.S. Military (retirees, veterans, active duty, National Guard or Reserves).

  • Red Robin is inviting all veterans and active-duty service members to enjoy a FREE Red's Tavern Double burger with Bottomless Steak Fries on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at all of its restaurants nationwide. Additionally, as part of its year-round commitment to giving back to those who serve their country, Red Robin is rewarding its military Red Robin Royalty members with a 20 percent discount at participating restaurants throughout the holiday season (Nov. 12-Dec. 31).   • Denver's Texas Roadhouse restaurants invite veterans and active members of U.S. military to enjoy FREE lunch on Wednesday, November 11. Every Texas Roadhouse location across the country will participate in the free lunch event to honor the men and women of our armed forces.
  • Veterans and active duty military personnel will have the opportunity to build an individualized, delicious pasta bowl at their local Fazoli's. Additionally, children will have the chance to create "Thank You" cards for U.S. troops on Tuesday, Nov. 10, as part of Fazoli's Kid's Night activity. Fazoli's will send the personally crafted messages to our troops as a token of gratitude for their service.
  • Great Clips, the world's largest hair salon brand, is offering veterans a free haircut from Nov. 11 through Dec. 31 2015. Customers come in for a service on Veteran's Day (Nov. 11) and get a free haircut card to give to a veteran, redeemable through the end of 2015.
