Drivers Advised To 'Stay Within The Lines' When Parking Near Protected Bike Lanes
DENVER (CBS4)- Drivers are noticing some changes while parking along the protected bike lanes in downtown Denver.
Drivers will have to park alongside the bike lane and then cross the bike lane to pay the meter along Lawrence and Arapahoe Streets.
Denver Public Works says it's as easy as staying within the lines.
"The parked cars, they're the buffer to try to separate the bicycle traffic from the vehicle traffic," said Denver Public Works spokeswoman Heather Burke. Stay within the white markings to avoid getting a parking ticket."
Burke also advises drivers to watch for cyclists when opening the passenger door.
