Police Groups Call For Boycott Of Tarantino's Movie Filmed In Colorado

DENVER (CBS4) - Police groups are calling for a boycott of Quentin Tarantino's "The Hateful Eight"  filmed in Colorado.

Tarantino started filming in December of last year about 10 miles west of Telluride. The movie highlights the beautiful mountains and scenery Colorado is known for.

Police unions and groups started their push to boycott the film after Tarantino attended the Brooklyn rally against brutality on Oct. 24 where he told The Associated Press: "I'm a human being with a conscience. And if you believe there's murder going on then you need to rise up and stand up against it. I'm here to say I'm on the side of the murdered."

According to CBS News, local police organizations in New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Philadelphia and Los Angeles, as well as the National Association of Police Organizations, recently joined the ranks opposing Tarantino after he made those remarks.

Tarantino has yet to respond publicly to the backlash.
