Woman Doesn't Want Items From Toby Keith's 'I Love This Bar' Auction On eBay

DENVER (CBS4) - Not even Toby Keith's love was enough to keep a chain of I Love This Bar & Grill restaurants open across the country. On Thursday items from the Northfield restaurant with his name went up for auction.

All the items including 40 TVs, bar stools, lighted signs, restaurant equipment and shelving were being auctioned off after the restaurant was seized for non-payment of taxes.

According to the auction's website, the restaurant located in Northfield Stapleton owes the City and County of Denver approximately $70,000.

At the beginning of the auction there was an overall bid placed for $125,000 for everything inside the restaurant. But the city also had the option to see what bids on individual items would amount to. At the end if the individual bids total more than the overall bid, the items go to each individual.

A mechanical bull won a top bid of $4,700.

Some people at the action said it was emotional for them because they are upset with what happened and it's reflecting poorly on Keith, even though he didn't actually own the restaurant.

"Knowing that Toby's personal mementos that he loaned from his many USO tours are going to be sold to somebody that may sell them on eBay when it should go back to Toby … it's not right," a tearful woman said. "That's why I'm here. I want to get this stuff before somebody else gets it."

Some of the items she wanted to bid on included clothing.

Denver has more than recovered the tax losses with just the $125,000 overall bid.

The restaurant chain has closed other locations across the U.S. including California, Arizona and Minnesota.
