Weeping Willow Planted As A Memorial Will Be Replaced After Vandals Cut It Down

LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4) - A special tree will be replaced in Longmont thanks to generous donations.

A weeping willow planted in memory of Sean and Staci Griffin was cut down more than a week ago. The Griffins owned Boulder Stove and Flooring. They both were shot and killed by a disgruntled employee in 2010.

The family is relieved to know that those responsible were probably unaware of the meaning behind the tree. It was a way for the Griffin's only daughter to remember her parents.

"She had a place to (come) back when she's processed … her grief. And she had a place to come back and remember her mom and dad and remember Colorado," family friend Kelly Graham said.
