Attacker Leaves Behind Halloween Mask At Victim's Home

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Lakewood have an interesting clue to help them track down a home invasion and attack suspect-- a Halloween mask was left at the victim's home.

Police say three people broke into a home in the 1400 block of South Ames Street near Sheridan and Arkansas in Lakewood early Tuesday morning. They attacked the person living there but when the victim fought back two of the suspects displayed handguns.

Investigators say the intruders started shooting as they were running away from the home. No one was struck by the bullets.

One of the intruders was wearing a Halloween mask and dropped it on the way out. Officers also found a white shoe and a dark blue/grey sweatshirt outside the home.

The suspects got into a black Kia-style SUV with unknown Colorado registration and drove south on South Ames Street.

One suspect is described as an Hispanic male, 5-foot-2 to 5-foot-5 with short black hair and "chubby." The victim was unable to describe the second male suspect as well as a female associated with the males.

The home invasion victim was also a victim of a carjacking on Oct. 17. The car, a 2001 black Lexus IS 300 with Colorado license plate 492-OQH. The vehicle remains missing.
