Shots Fired At Vehicle From Another Vehicle On I-225

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - There were bullet holes in a white Nissan that drove up to a Denver police station well before dawn.

Aurora police say multiple bullets struck the Nissan. Why it happened is a mystery the Aurora police is hoping you can help them solve.

Police say the gunshots came from a dark colored Cadillac, possibly an early 2000 model with dark tinted windows.

Aurora police say at 3 a.m. the Nissan entered Interstate 225 at the Illiff Avenue on-ramp, but after being shot, a short time later before reaching Parker Road, the Nissan's driver kept going.

The mysterious Cadillac followed, but gave up the pursuit a short time later.

The Nissan driver drove another 8 miles and stopped at Denver police's District 3 office on University, just north of Interstate 25. The normal drive time to university is about 15 minutes. It's unknown, however, how fast the Nissan driver was going after taking gunshots.

No one was injured and for now, Aurora police say the people in the two cars do not know one another.

Aurora police say if you have any information please call detective Rick Day at 303-739-1835.
