Frontier Flight Attendants Say New Program Will Force Them To Work While Sick

DENVER (CBS4) - A group of Frontier Airlines flight attendants is protesting the airline's new attendance policy.

Frontier has launched a "dependability program" -- using a point system to track employee's absences. The union representing flight attendants claims the new policy penalizes them for calling in sick.

"Attendants that have to make the decision whether or not to go to work sick or face disciplinary action or termination," Sherri Thompson with the Association of Flight Attendants said.

In a letter to employees the company said, "Frontier Airlines relies upon the regular dependability of its flight attendants to maintain a reliable flight schedule … all employees should strive for perfect attendance, unless the absence is truly unavoidable."
