"I was pretty worried we heard it was going to happen seventh period," said student Ryan Hancock.

According to the Aurora Police Department School Resource Officers for Rangeview High School, they received an email threat made by an unknown person. During the investigation, officers determined the threat was not credible.

"We were told a couple of teachers got threatened," said student Alberto Castro.

The teen apparently made violent threats against the teacher if his homework didn't stop.

The case remains under investigation as detectives conduct interviews.

"The initial call let parents know there was a report of a possible threat but determined that threat was not credible," said Aurora Public Schools spokeswoman Patti Moon.

Some parents were upset they weren't told of the threat before school started on Thursday.

"You never know, maybe it wasn't serious but with all that's gone on," said parent Lynn Toler.

Aurora police have increased officer patrols at the school. Additional security measures were also taken. The school was not closed on Thursday.

"Many are asking why we did not cancel school today, and I want to assure you that we would not ask students or staff members to report to school if we had any reason to believe that we had a credible threat," said Moon.

The juvenile's age and name have not been released because he is a minor.
