GEORGETOWN, Colo. (CBS4)- The snow guns at Loveland Ski area are positioned and ready to go as temperatures are expected to dip this weekend, making the perfect conditions for snowmaking.

With the chance for flurries and nighttime temperatures through the weekend, Loveland will start making snow.

Loveland Ski Area typically competes for the honor of the first ski area to open in Colorado. The area hasn't set an opening date but hope to have an 18-inch base with top to bottom and tree to tree coverage when the lifts start running.
