New Surveillance Video Shows 'Scream' Bank Robber In Vault

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - The search for the robbers responsible for Wednesday's violent bank heist in Lakewood is continuing, and investigators have released surveillance video of the crime.

The FBI's Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force released the video late Thursday. Prior to that they had only shared still images. In the video, the robbers can be seen wearing their "Scream" costume masks and robbing the US Bank at 14th Avenue and Carr Street.

One of the criminals climbs over a teller window with a handgun in one of the videos and in another a robber confronts two people inside the bank's vault, coming close to both of them.

The robbery happened in the morning, and detectives say a nearby shooting at a 7-Eleven on 1110 South Pierce Street minutes before is connected. They think the suspects tried to distract police with the shooting while they robbed the bank.

It's not clear if there are more suspects beyond the two from the bank robbery and the one who was responsible for the shooting at the 7-Eleven. No one was hurt at the convenience store -- two bullets were fired at the ceiling.

Police also now say the getaway car was a black SUV with a rear window that may be broken.
