NFL Names Broncos Ware AFC Defensive Player Of The Month

DENVER (CBS4) - After a somewhat disappointing season last year, Broncos linebacker DeMarcus Ware is on a tear. And the NFL has noticed.

The pass rushing specialist was named AFC Defensive Player of the Month on Thursday. He has 15 quarterback knockdowns and hurries so far this season to go along with 3 1/2 sacks.

On Sunday Ware repeatedly hounded Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford early in the game, and Stafford never looked comfortable again in the eventual loss to the Broncos.

The Denver Broncos noted in an article on their website that Ware is now in 13th place on the NFL's all-time sack list.
