Investigators Search For More Victims In Teacher Sex Exploitation Case

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. (CBS4)- A former teacher in Highlands Ranch has been charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a child. Investigators say both alleged victims are minors and one incident happened while he was still teaching.

Jeffrey Falk worked at ThunderRidge High School as a math teacher for 17 years, from 1997 to 2014. Investigators have identified two victims but haven't said whether they were students. Jail records show one of the alleged incidents happened in 2012 when Falk was still teaching.

Falk, 52, is also facing several felony charges related to child pornography and stalking. He remained in custody on Tuesday.

He retired from ThunderRidge High School last year.

Falk was initially arrested on Sept. 21 and bonded out of custody a short time later. He was taken back into custody after investigators say they discovered a second victim.

Former students reacted to news of his arrest.

"He was always inviting students to come have lunch, come hang out with him after school in his classroom for no academic reason just to hang out and be really friendly with students," said one of Falk's former students.

Investigators in Douglas County are concerned there may be more victims related to the case. The school district says Falk also worked at Parker Vista Middle School which is now called Sierra Middle School.

ThunderRidge High Principal Chris Tabeling sent a letter to parents saying in part, "I can assure you that ThunderRidge High School and Douglas County School District take this matter extremely seriously and we are cooperating fully with law enforcement. Because this is an ongoing criminal investigation, the Sheriff's Office has asked that we not disclose further information on the case."
