Walmart Expands Online Grocery Service To Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP)- Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is expanding its online grocery service to eight more locations.

The world's biggest retailer said Tuesday that the service is heading to Atlanta; Charlotte and Fayetteville, North Carolina; Nashville, Tennessee; Tucson, Arizona; Colorado Springs, Colorado; Salt Lake City and Ogden, Utah. It previously offered the service at five locations. It plans to add more markets in the coming weeks.

There is no subscription fee for the service, and orders can be picked up for free. Customers can take advantage of same-day pickup if they place orders before 10 a.m.

Wal-Mart is looking to keep pace with Amazon's Fresh grocery service and Target Corp., which announced earlier this month that it's teamed with Instacart on online grocery delivery.

Shares of Wal-Mart, based in Bentonville, Arkansas, shed 19 cents to $63.47 in afternoon trading.
