Volunteers Make Colorado Task Force Rescue Training More Realistic
MORRISON, Colo. (CBS4) - Search and rescue crews with the Colorado Task Force were training for severe weather disasters on Tuesday.
The exercises took place at Bear Creek Lake Park in Morrison. Teams practiced with a new GPS system that will help make search efforts faster and more efficient.
"We've got several live role players, volunteers that came out; we try to make these exercises as realistic as possible," said Kevin Warren, Rescue Team Manager. "It keeps the dogs excited and gives the rescuers some more people to look for."
The task force says such exercises help them figure out what training is needed for future rescues.
