Denver Water Explores Possibility Of Storing Water In Aquifers
ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Denver Water is working on a plan to drought-proof the city through a process called Aquifer Storage and Recovery.
Crews began drilling into underground aquifers Monday afternoon in Adams County to explore the water storage capacity. They're hoping to use those natural rock formations to store water for emergencies and future demand.
The aquifers beneath the city cover an area about the size of Connecticut.
