Woman To Be Sentenced For Running Over Husband In Fight
BRIGHTON, Colo. (AP) — A 39-year-old woman is set to be sentenced Thursday in Brighton for running over her husband and killing him during a fight.
Nancy Jo Arias was convicted in June of manslaughter and vehicular homicide in the death of her husband Phillip Anthony Lobato last summer.
Arias said she and her husband were having a heated argument in the car in which he hit her with his hand. She says she told him to get out of the vehicle but says he continued to hit her through the open window.
During her trial, prosecutors argued her husband was no longer a threat at that point and Arias had many other choices she could have made.
