Colorado Teen Arrested In California, Nevada Bomb Threats
CORONA, Calif. (AP) - A Colorado teenager has been arrested on suspicion of making false bomb threats at California and Nevada high schools.
The FBI said Wednesday that the teen was arrested Tuesday at his home in Colorado Springs. Local prosecutors are deciding whether he'll be charged.
The boy's name and exact age weren't released.
The FBI says investigators believe the teen called the Corona Police Department in Southern California on Sept. 8 and 9, saying he had placed explosives at an area high school. No bombs were found.
Corona police say the false threats cost the department at least $21,000, and that there are about $20,000 in other costs, including additional campus security.
The FBI says the teen also has been linked to similar calls to Las Vegas high schools.
