American Airlines Flights Held At DIA Due To Technical Issue

DENVER (CBS4)- A technical issue that impacted American Airlines flights at other airports across the country delayed some flights taking off from Denver International Airport.

Four departing American Airlines flights were held at DIA. There are no other cancellations or delays for American Airlines flights either arriving or departing from DIA on Thursday.

About 11:45 a.m. DIA spokesman Heath Montgomery told CBS4 those flights "should be taking off by early afternoon" and that passengers should call American Airlines for the possibility of delays.

There was a ground stop for all American airlines flights departing for Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, Chicago O'Hare and Miami until at least 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

American Airlines released this statement regarding the technical issue: "We're working to resolve technical issues impacting several airports as quickly as possible. We will provide updates and more information as they become available. We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience."
