Crews Contain 1,500-Acre Brush Fire Near Agate In Elbert County
ELBERT COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Firefighters battling a brush fire that broke out Tuesday in Elbert County say they have it 100 percent contained.
The fire was burning near the town of Agate and grew to an estimated 1,500 acres just off Interstate 70 and County Road 162.
According to Elbert County Sheriff Shayne Heap, one structure was threatened but it's not clear if it caught fire.
Multiple agencies are working the fire.
The Colorado Department of Transportation didn't hear of any impact on traffic on I-70 near the fire.
