Construction On Denver-Area Roads Could Delay Weekend Travelers

DENVER (CBS4) - Closures from a couple construction projects could delay you this weekend.

The ramp from Church Ranch Boulevard to westbound US 36 will close Friday, September 11th at 9 p.m. until Monday, September 14th at 5:30 a.m.

Scott Rees from the Colorado Department of Transportation heads this project and says this is to put the finishing touches on Phase 1 of the US 36 Express Lanes Project.

The detour to access westbound US 36 during the closure is either Church Ranch Blvd to Wadsworth or Westminster Boulevard to 120th to Wadsworth.traffic alert generic 16 by 9

Crews will also be working overnight Saturday, September 12th into Sunday, September 13th to move concrete barriers and restripe a new alignment on southbound Interstate 25 from County Line Road to RidgeGate Parkway.

The new alignment will only require single and double lane closures of southbound I-25, but when the interstate reopens all southbound traffic will be shifted to the east. CDOT says this new alignment will be in place until November.

This is Phase 5 of the widening project which is expected to be complete by the end of 2015.
