Fort Carson Crews Will Cut Black Hawk Into Pieces To Lift Out Of Crash Site
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Fort Carson crews are beginning to clean up the scene of a helicopter crash in Douglas County.
The UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter went down in a remote area of the Pike National Forest last week during a training session.
Crews will now cut the chopper into pieces and use another helicopter to lift it out of the site. The pieces will then be taken to Fort Carson for further investigation.
Two Fort Carson soldiers were injured in the crash. They remain hospitalized with serious injuries.
The cause of the crash is not yet known.
