Fort Worth Man Gets 4 Months In Prison Over Disrupted Flight From Denver

AMARILLO, Texas (AP) — A Fort Worth man has been sentenced to four months in prison for disrupting a Southwest Airlines flight and forcing an unscheduled landing in Amarillo.

Zachary Marshall Ziba was sentenced Tuesday in federal court in Amarillo.

Ziba in June was convicted of interfering with a flight crew over the Jan. 18 incident on a trip from Denver to Dallas.

Prosecutors say Ziba became disruptive, intimidated a flight attendant and used profanities. The jet diverted to Amarillo, where Ziba was removed.

An attorney for Ziba has said his client was intoxicated and arguing with a friend but never threatened or touched a flight attendant who reported the incident to the captain.
