Crews In Boulder Done Patching Sinkhole That Swallowed Woman's Car

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - Crews on Monday afternoon finished patching a sinkhole that partially swallowed a woman's car in Boulder on Sunday.

The woman tried to drive through what she believed was shallow water but instead the front end of her car sank into the sinkhole that was created by a water main break.

The woman was able to get out of her car safely.

Crews say the water main break in the westbound lanes of Iris Avenue caused the sinkhole. They worked overnight to make repairs, which were mostly compete by noon on Monday.

One lane on Iris just east of 26th Street was closed for the work but the road was completely reopened in the afternoon.
