CSU Grad Who Shot Cat With An Arrow Could Lose Vet License In Texas
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) - A closed door hearing was held at the Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners after complaints against a woman who bragged on social media about killing a cat with an arrow.
Kristen Lindsey, a graduate of Colorado State University's veterinary program, shot the cat with a bow and arrow back in April west of Houston where she was working at an animal clinic. A Texas grand jury decided not to indict her in June.
A picture on Facebook that was later removed showed her holding the cat by the arrow shaft. The caption of the photo read, "My first bow kill, lol. The only good feral tomcat is one with an arrow through its head! Vet of the year award ... gladly accepted."
Several animal rights activists were in attendance at the closed door meeting. They want to see harsher punishment for Lindsey.
"Certainly, the people who have been upset by this would like to see her license revoked, but that's up to the board," said Xandra Anderson, an animal rights attorney.
Lindsey was fired from her job at the veterinary clinic. She and her attorney were not at the hearing. The board has yet to make a decision on her future as a vet.
