Local Movie Theater Chain Inspects Bags In New Security Measure

DENVER (CBS4)- There's a new security measure at a local movie theater chain that will put some moviegoers through inspection. Regal Theatres, which also owns United Artists, will inspect backpacks and bags of all kinds.

A message on the theatre's website acknowledges the procedure is not without its flaws and would inconvenience guests but will provide better security.

This latest change in security comes after the gunman in the Aurora theater shooting was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole and shootings at theaters in Tennessee and Louisiana.

Moviegoers seem to take it all in stride.

Regal Theatres said the policy will stay in place for the time being. Regal is the nation's largest movie theater chain.
