Forest Service Breaks Up Illegal Marijuana Grow Site

DECKERS, Colo. (CBS4)- The U.S. Forest Service teamed up with several law enforcement agencies to break down an illegal marijuana grow site in the Pike National Forest.

The illegal grow site was located near the Green Mountain area about five miles northwest of Deckers. The eradication team collected nearly 4,000 plants and more than 3,000 pounds of irrigation pipe, pesticides, flammable liquids, camping gear and trash.

No arrests have been made and the case remains under investigation.

"Interagency cooperation was key to success of these illegal grow sites being eradicated," said Heiko Bornhoff, U.S. Forest Service Acting Special Agent In Charge, in a statement.
