Motorcyclist Accused Of Knocking Denver Officer To The Ground Formally Charged
DENVER (CBS4) - A man accused of hitting a police officer with his motorcycle in Denver has been formally charged.
According to Lynn Kimbrough with the district attorney's office, Francisco Garcia-Osornio, 24, has been charged with attempted felony first-degree assault and felony menacing.
"The charges allege that Garcia-Osornio was riding his motorcycle with four other riders on a closed ramp at the 6th Avenue interchange with Federal Boulevard when he saw a Denver police officer and accelerated directly toward him, hitting him and knocking the officer to the ground," Kimbrough said in a statement.
Garcia-Osornio lost control, crashed his motorcycle and was taken into custody. He's currently free on a $50,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 3 to be advised of the charges.
