Money Magazine's 'Best Places' Rankings Include 2 Colorado Towns

LOUISVILLE, Colo. (CBS4) - A city on Colorado's Front Range has once again been selected as one of the top places to live in the country.

Money Magazine's annual feature "Best Places to Live in America" ranks the top small cities in the country. The editors use a variety of statistics to come up with their rankings, including economic factors and educational options.

This year Louisville was ranked No. 4 and nearby Erie came in at No. 13.

In the past 10 years, Louisville has been named the No. 1 place to live on the list twice and No. 2 one other time. The Boulder County town was named the No. 4 city this year for "great weather, good schools, and the Rockies right out the back door." In the magazine's description of the town, they say the municipality is being aggressive about managing growth challenges, something many Front Range communities are dealing with.

Erie was also given high marks this year for its small-town feel and highly educated residents. The large library and community center were also mentioned in the magazine's description.

In previous years, Colorado towns like Castle Rock, Parker, Firestone, Superior, Boulder and Fort Collins have popped up on the list, but none of those communities were listed in the Top 50 this year.

Apex, North Carolina, was given the No. 1 ranking for 2015.
