Police Search For Suspects Who Entered Apartment & Shot Man

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Aurora are looking for murder suspects after a man was shot and killed in an apartment Thursday night.

It happened on the third floor of an apartment building on the 1500 block of Nome Street. Police responded to a report of a person shot shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday and found a male with multiple gunshot wounds.

An officer said an unknown number of people entered the victim's apartment and shot him. Police said shortly after 2 a.m. Friday that the victim succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators continued with witness interviews on Friday by going door-to-door in the apartment complex.

The case is an active homicide investigation and police do not have information on a suspect. The identity of the victim has not been released.

Police said it is too early to know if the victim and suspect or suspects knew each other but do not believe the public is in danger.
