Plow Drivers Show Off In 'Snow Road-eo' Competition

LOVELAND, Colo. (CBS4) - There's no snow on the ground, but more than 100 plow drivers were on the roads Friday for the 27th annual Snow Road-eo competition.

Each year, snow plow operators make their way through an obstacle course to show off how well they can drive the big rigs. It's also a chance for the drivers to refresh their skills during the summer.

The plow drivers hit the pavement at 9 a.m. Friday the Denver Public Works Central Platte Campus.

"We always prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Regardless of how much snow we get, we're still going to be able to go out there and clear all those A and B routes and make sure the citizens of Denver and get to where they need to go," said Denver Public Works Safety and Health Director Marcel Linne.

The winners will move forward to the national competition in Loveland this fall.
