I-70 Off-Ramp To Havana Street Now Closed Until Next Year

DENVER (CBS4) - The Interstate 70 off-ramp to Havana Street was closed on Wednesday and it won't open again until early next year.

Colorado Department of Transportation crews will be tearing down the I-70 bridge over Havana Street and a new bridge will be built in tandem with the demolition.

Most of the work will happen overnight.

Detours for northbound Havana will be East 40th Avenue to Central Park, then to 47th Avenue. On southbound Havana take 47th to Central Park to 40th.

Motorists can also expect a traffic shift on I-70.

"This $25 million project includes interchange ramp improvements, lighting upgrades, new asphalt paving, retaining walls, concrete shoulder improvements and construction of a railroad tunnel structure under I-70," CDOT said in a statement.
