Boulder Team Could Be First In Colorado To Reach Little League World Series

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - The North Boulder Little League team will be playing for the southwest regional championship Thursday night with a shot at becoming the first Colorado team ever to go to the Little League World Series.

In the elimination game versus Arkansas, Colorado trailed 8-7 in the 4th inning, but Trevor Moore changed the game. He crushed his second homer of the game to make it 11-8. They held on to win 11-9.

The team has a rematch with Texas East, who clobbered them earlier this week. But if they win they get to be the first ever Colorado team to head to the World Series.

"You have to win like three tournaments to get to the World Series, and that's hard," Little League player Fletch Barr said. "That's many games to win and each game is like a real battle."

The team already made history after becoming the first Colorado team to play in a Little League regional final.

For Little League players Barr and Nolan Roberts, it's inspiring to watch their teammates compete on a national stage, putting the Wildcats, Boulder and Colorado on the Little League map.

"Every game has been showing where Boulder is from and how long of a drive it is to Waco," Roberts said.

"It's just really cool to see like they're playing on a big field and they're on TV and they're getting interviewed and stuff," Barr said.
