Metal Cutting Sparks Brush Fire In Brighton

BRIGHTON, Colo. (CBS4)- A brush fire that was sparked by a landowner cutting metal burned 10 acres near the Vestas plant in Brighton on Wednesday afternoon.

The fire burned in a field near Weld County Road 4 where it spread to some storage trailers.

Brighton Fire Rescue Chief Mark Bodane said the landowner was doing some metal cutting when the sparks caught the brush on fire.

It took some 15 firefighters about an hour and a half to put out the fire. Weld County Road 4 was closed for awhile while they worked to put out the fire.

No one was injured in the fire.
