Take A Walk Downtown With A Shelter Dog
DENVER (CBS4)- The Denver Public Library and the Denver Animal Shelter teamed up on Tuesday to get humans moving and help find animals a new home.
It's part of Mayor Michael Hancock's Denver Days that aims to get people out from behind their desks and into the city for a stroll.
Researchers have confirmed that too much sitting is as harmful to your health as smoking. The problem is blood that pools in your legs which makes your heart pump harder.
The Denver Animal Shelter is trying to change that. On Tuesday they brought out eight shelter dogs to the Denver Public Library's central location at 10 West 14th Ave. Parkway to give anyone a chance to stretch their legs and possibly find a new pet to take home.
It's not just about dogs who need rescuing, but humans as well.
The Denver Animal Shelter will have the dogs at the Denver Public Library's central location until 2 p.m. Tuesday.
