City-Owned Sculpture In Durango A Total Loss After Vandals Strike

DURANGO, Colo. (CBS4) - Vandals destroyed a sculpture that was a target of public ridicule in Durango.

The city-owned sculpture is a group of stone slabs on a long steel rod. The Durango Herald reported that vandals have targeted the sculpture before making it look like a dinosaur and even a dragon.

This time someone broke off rocks from the middle of the sculpture.

The city says the $28,000 sculpture is a total loss.
