Driver Pleads Guilty In Death Of JeffCo Deputy

GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4) - A woman who struck and killed an off-duty Jefferson County sheriff's deputy directing traffic at the scene of a multi-car crash in January has pleaded guilty.

The Jefferson County District Attorney's Office said Friday that Blair Gledhill, 23, pled guilty to misdemeanors of careless driving resulting in death and two counts of careless driving resulting in injury.

Authorities say Gledhill lost control of her car on Jan. 3 while driving on snowy U.S. 285 near Conifer.

Her car crossed the highway, striking Sergeant Sean Renfro, another person and a vehicle. Renfro had stopped to help a family involved in a different crash. The 15-year department veteran left behind a wife and four children.

Gledhill is scheduled for sentencing in October in Jefferson County Court. She faces as much as a year in jail.
