Strip Mall Thieves Bust Through Back Door: 'Steal All The Cash'

BROOMFIELD, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Broomfield are searching for thieves who are targeting businesses in strip malls, breaking in in the middle of the night and taking anything they can get their hands on.

"They steal all the cash from the register and in the office, iPad, iPods," said Steve Vuong, the manager of Pho Mai, one of the businesses targeted.

The thieves have broken into 12 businesses between July 16 and July 20. All the businesses are located in three strip malls at 120th Avenue and Main Street, 10th Avenue and U.S. 287 and Third Avenue and Nickel Street.

The burglaries happened in the early morning hours after thieves forced entry into the businesses by forcing open the back door. Once inside, they took cash, small electronics and liquor.

"The owner of the liquor story, she ran over and told us our store was broken in from the back door, too," said Vuong.

Police are looking for a car involved in all the burglaries: a white 1991 Mercury Capri with a tan convertible top and missing plastic molding on the passenger side door.

Business owners told police after the fact that the car seemed suspicious.
