Man Accused Of Passing Out Jury Nullification Literature From Booth At Courthouse

DENVER (CBS4) - A man accused of jury tampering has been formally charged.

According to Lynn Kimbrough with the district attorney's office, Mark Iannicelli, 56, allegedly passed out literature on jury nullification as potential jurors entered the Lindsay-Flanigan Courthouse in Denver earlier this week.

Iannicelli has been charged with seven counts of jury tampering.

"The charges allege that on July 27 Iannicelli set up a small booth with a sign that said 'Juror Info' in front of the courthouse and provided jury nullification flyers to jury pool members," Kimbrough said in a statement.

According to a court document, Iannicelli refused to provide his name and age when he was contacted by police. They were able to identify him after retrieving identification from his wallet.

The fliers Iannicelli was handing out were titled "All You Need To Know About Jury Nullification."

"At the time of the offense, a death penalty case was underway at the same location," according to the court document.

Iannicelli is currently free on a $5,000 personal recognizance bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 11 to be formally advised of the charges.
