Police: Mechanic Abandons Shop, Takes Customers' Belongings

ARVADA, Colo. (CBS4)- The man who operated the "Always Available Mobile Mechanics" shop isn't available anymore after he abandoned his shop and customers' belongings. Not only that, Ronald Cox is wanted on several arrest warrants out of Arvada.

Police said between February and this month, they received reports of thefts relating to car repair work that was not completed. Some of those customers' vehicles were missing after Cox seemingly disappeared.

Cox was the owner of Always Available Mobile Mechanics in Arvada. He's been unavailable for months after allegedly skipping town in a stolen vehicle.

In February, one of Cox's customers, Robert Green, talked to CBS4 about his experience with the mechanic. Green said that Cox didn't fix his truck and instead dismantled it.

"Six thousand dollars down the drain," said Green.

He said it was too expensive to repair and had to give up the vehicle. He wasn't the only one.

Cox told CBS4 in March that he was trying to make up for his mistakes but no one has heard from him since.

Cox currently has outstanding arrest warrants for misdemeanor theft and for three felony counts of motor vehicle theft.

Cox is described as 5-foot-9, white male, with white hair and blue eyes. He has worn his hair both long and short. He may be living out of a stolen 1998 red Chevrolet C1500 truck with VIN: IGCEC19R3WR14626, Texas license plate BVR-9393 in the Littleton or Englewood areas.

Anyone with additional information regarding Ronald Cox or his whereabouts is asked to contact Detective Johnson of the Arvada Police Department at 720.898.6746 or Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720.913.STOP (7867).
