Fort Collins Police Search For Suspects In 2 Attacks

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Fort Collins are searching for suspects wanted in two physical assaults on women.

Investigators say the attacks happened on July 26 and July 27. Both cases are similar in that both women were returning home late at night and lived in apartment complexes. They were both attacked from behind by an unknown assailant.

In both cases, the victims of the assaults were able to evade their attacker and called police.

The victims suffered physical injuries. The motive of the attacks is unknown.

Members of the public are reminded to be vigilant and to take the following simple precautions in order to remain safe.

1. When traveling to or from home late at night, always try to be in the company of at least one other person.
2. Always travel in well lit areas if at all possible.
3. If being dropped off by a friend in a vehicle or by a taxi, ask the driver to take you within sight of your door and remain until that driver can see that you are safely inside.
4. Be vigilant. Know your surroundings.
5. Report any suspicious persons or activity to police without delay.
6. Keep doors and windows secured.
