Ghawi's Parents React To Latest Shooting: 'Enough Is Enough'

DENVER (CBS4)- The parents of a victim in the Aurora theater shooting are once again calling for action after a gunman opened fire in a movie theater in Louisiana.

Jessica Ghawi was among the 12 killed on July 20, 2012 when the gunman opened fire inside an Aurora movie theater. Seventy others were injured in the attack.

That attack bears striking similarities to Thursday's shooting thousands of miles away.

"He started shooting 20 minutes into the film just like in Aurora. He was shooting randomly from what we've been told. Just too many similarities and it makes me shake my head everyday and wonder when are we going to hit the tipping point and say, 'Enough is enough,'" said Ghawi's mother Sandy Phillips.

The gunman in the Aurora theater shooting was convicted last week of first-degree murder in the attack. The sentencing phase continues next week at the Arapahoe County Justice Center in Centennial.
