Boulder Police Search For FitBit Thief

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Boulder want the public's help to identify a woman who they believe stole several fitness tracking devices from an REI store.

Officers were called to the REI at 1789 28th Street on July 3 to help investigate the theft of several FitBit activity trackers. On that day, employees noticed a rack holding the items was empty and they looked at security video.

On the video the employees told police they discovered a woman who made repeated trips to the rack holding the activity trackers on July 2 between 7:15 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. The video showed the woman placing two or three of them at a time into a large red or pink bag she carried on her shoulder.

She is described as an African American woman, between 25-35 years old, with shoulder length black hair and freckles. At the time of the theft, she was wearing dark blue jeans or pants, a dark blue or denim jacket with a white shirt and sandals. She may have been involved with a similar theft that occurred at other metro area REI stores.
